Las frases correctas para OET writing demuestran que entiendes el registro, la convencion clinica y el tono profesional. Las incorrectas – o un conjunto limitado y repetitivo – pueden bajar tu puntaje incluso cuando tu razonamiento clinico es impecable.

1. Abrir una Referral, Transfer o Discharge Letter
La primera oracion de tu carta debe indicar el proposito de inmediato. Los evaluadores buscan una apertura clara y directa, no una introduccion vaga. Estas frases te llevan ahi en una sola oracion.

2. Describir la condicion de presentacion del paciente
Una vez que hayas indicado el proposito, necesitas establecer por que el paciente esta siendo referido, transferido o discutido. Estas frases introducen los antecedentes clinicos de manera eficiente.

Una buena carta de OET no solo informa, hace una solicitud clara. La solicitud de cierre le dice al lector exactamente lo que necesitas que haga a continuacion. Esto es critico para tu puntaje de Task Achievement.

7. Frases de enlace y transicion para escritura clinica
La cohesion es uno de los cuatro criterios de evaluacion de OET writing. Estas frases de enlace te ayudan a moverte logicamente entre ideas: de los antecedentes a los hallazgos, de los hallazgos al tratamiento, y del tratamiento a las recomendaciones.

Consejos para practicar estas frases
Conocer estas frases no es suficiente: necesitas poder producirlas con fluidez bajo condiciones de tiempo. Asi es como puedes hacer que se queden.
- Escribe una carta de practica por dia. Usa las notas de caso de muestra oficiales de OET y desafiate a incluir al menos cinco frases de esta lista en cada carta. La practica con tiempo limitado construye la fluidez que necesitas el dia del examen.
- Categoriza mientras practicas. Despues de terminar una carta, resalta cada frase y etiquetala por funcion (apertura, condicion, hallazgos, tratamiento, solicitud, cierre, transicion). Si una categoria es consistentemente debil, enfoca tu proxima sesion ahi.
- Lee cartas modelo en voz alta. Las frases clinicas tienen un ritmo. Leer en voz alta te ayuda a internalizar las estructuras de oraciones para que surjan naturalmente cuando escribas.
- Intercambia y sustituye. Toma una oracion que ya hayas escrito y reemplaza una frase con una alternativa de la misma categoria. Por ejemplo, cambia “was commenced on” por “was treated with” y observa como cambia la oracion. Esto construye flexibilidad.
- Combina con habilidades de escritura mas amplias. Estas frases funcionan mejor cuando tu tecnica general de escritura es solida. Por que la seleccion de frases importa mas alla del examen
OET es un examen de comunicacion laboral, no de habilidad lingueistica abstracta. Las frases en esta lista no son “trucos de examen”: son las expresiones estandar que se usan en referral letters, discharge summaries y handovers clinicos reales en hospitales de habla inglesa todos los dias. Practicarlas te prepara no solo para aprobar el examen, sino para comunicarte de manera segura y efectiva desde tu primer dia en un nuevo rol clinico.

No necesitas memorizar las 50 frases de una vez. Comienza con dos o tres de cada categoria, usalas en cartas de practica con tiempo limitado y gradualmente amplia tu repertorio. El objetivo no es usar el lenguaje mas impresionante posible, sino usar el lenguaje correcto para el contexto clinico, de manera consistente y precisa.
